Wedding Songs - Love Songs, Epic!

I love to research. Nothing makes me happier than to research for love. I am a bride to be myself. No, I haven't saved the date yet, life sometimes gets in the way. Sometimes I think I may become an eternal fiancee! But during this time, I have talked with wedding planners, seen different wedding themes, spoken with many receptions halls, tasted numerous genres of food. Through all that, one wedding reception hall stood out above the rest, called Cortlandt Colonial Manor (featured in a episode of the bridal the show The Four Weddings!), located in Winchester, NY. They have exquisite food and a beautiful atmosphere at a very affordable cost! I'm by no means rich and the words affordable and deal sparkle like diamonds to me! Well, geez I veered off track a little, didn't I? Back to the point of my article. I have a lot of information about how to prepare for your big day, including wedding songs.

Wedding songs for your reception and even the actual ceremony should be lively, and express the feelings between you and your fiance to your guests. The bride and groom should have a strong emotional attachment to the chosen first dance song. It should bring back memories that you share only with one another. I've listened through hours of songs and I came up with twenty songs that I think are worthy of a wedding. Recently, I've decided to add one more, because I couldn't believe I forgot it, shame on me! =) So the list is Top 21 Wedding Songs, and with no further a do...

21. At the Beginning- Richard Marx and Donna Lewis

There you have it! Now don't get me wrong I passed up some really epic love songs, like Endless Love- Lioniel Richie and Diana Ross. I know they will live on forever and never die. But I was going for modern love songs that still can be considered epic. Even though finding epic modern love songs was very trying and time consuming! And I just couldn't find a full twenty that was worthy. Our modern music has forgotten what love is about, so there is a mixture of a few older songs in my list. Love songs capture our feelings for that moment, freezing that moment in time. When it replays, it brings that moment back so vividly, really giving couples eternal love.

Choosing Between Harpist and String Quartet for Your Wedding

Your wedding day is coming and panic starts to sink in as you realize there are still so many things to do to make it perfect. If you are one of those who have yet to figure out which types of musicians to hire for your big day, read along. I guarantee that after reading this article you should have decided which one to choose. At the very least, you will have figured out their differences.

Two of the most common types of musicians used in weddings are harpists and string quartets. For beginners, harpists are those beautiful ladies who sing like angels but could summon all the strength necessary to wrestle with that super-sized stringed instrument for hours. On the other end, string quartets are those extremely devoted musicians who kept on playing while Titanic was sinking. Whoever thought of the line, "Gentlemen, it has been an honor playing with you" must have known firsthand how dedicated these musicians are with their craft.

Price

A wedding harpist typically plays by herself, while variations include the harp duo, the harp and flute, and the harp and guitar. String quartets on the other hand are usually composed of two violinists, a cellist, and a violist, while variations may add a pianist or a clarinetist to form a quintet. With the difference in number of musicians, it is almost always true that having a string quartet would cost you more than a harpist.

Number of Guests

The expected number of guests is another factor that could affect your choice of musicians. If you are expecting around 200 people to attend your wedding, you definitely have to use a string quartet. They produce a more vibrant music loud enough to could accommodate huge crowds. However, if you are planning an intimate wedding with around 50 guests, the might of the beautiful wedding harpist should be enough. If you really want to have a harpist play in your wedding but expects many guests, you could still have it in the more solemn parts of the event such as during the ceremony.

Wedding Theme

String quartets are popular for classic weddings while harpists are typical in romantic and intimate ones. Having a string quartet will surely leave an impression to your guests but a harpist could make it more memorable to you and your closest friends.

If you are still torn between the two, why not have both? Even on a limited budget, you may still afford both if you would just take the time to shop around the Web and compare prices.

Wedding Music - Should Your Wedding Program List Out Your Music?

When you are busy making arrangements for your wedding you'll have lots of important decisions to make. You'll need to get a lot of printing done in connection with your big day; wedding invitation cards, thank you cards, place cards, programs and the like. When it comes to the program you'll need to decide whether you should list out your wedding music on it as well.

Your wedding music is a very important part of the event. It is a mistake to think that you only need it to fill out the empty spaces from time to time. The right kind of music will entertain your guests beautifully and it will also help you express your personality and interests.

If you have taken a lot of trouble to organize the music and other entertainment for your big day then it wouldn't hurt to list it out on your program. If your music is well-selected then many of your guests would undoubtedly want to know what is being played. You will also be saving your wedding program as a keepsake of this important day. If it has the music listed then your keepsake will be complete.

Needless to say, it is not a particularly good idea to print out the music if you are having a very simple or casual ceremony. Keep in mind that this will also increase your printing costs. Go ahead and get an elaborate program printed only if yours is a very formal or elaborate wedding.

There are a few things to keep in mind when getting your wedding music printed out:

1. Finalize things well in advance and try not to make any last minute changes. It is never a good idea to leave print jobs to the last minute.

2. Give credit to the composers and songwriters who created the music as well as the musicians who will be performing it.

3. Check for spelling errors

4. Include the lyrics of hymns if you think that guests will sing along with it. Many weddings are religious rather than merely social events and people generally join in to sing the hymns.

You should also share the program with the wedding band so that there is no confusion about what music is to be played and at what time during the ceremony. A little bit of foresight regarding the wedding music and other arrangements will ensure that your big day is a truly memorable one for every person concerned.
